How We Rank Online Casinos — Complete Methodology
Every casino on this site has been evaluated using the same 40+ criteria organised into six weighted dimensions. No casino pays for a higher score. This page explains exactly what we test, how we weight it, and how we update our rankings each week.
Internet Casino Rankings earns revenue through affiliate links — if you register at a casino via our links, we may receive a commission at no cost to you. This commercial relationship has zero influence on our rankings. A casino with a strong affiliate programme that performs poorly on our criteria will rank poorly, or not appear at all. We have removed casinos from our list despite losing significant affiliate revenue when their standards dropped below our thresholds. Our ranking scores are determined entirely by the criteria below.
The most heavily weighted dimension. A casino that fails on security and licensing is removed from our list regardless of how well it scores elsewhere. We verify every license directly with the issuing regulatory authority before including a casino in our database.
We test withdrawals with real money at every casino we review. Payout speed is measured from withdrawal request to funds confirmed received in our account. We test multiple payment methods where possible.
We read the full bonus terms — not just the headline offer. Wagering requirements, win caps, game contribution rates, maximum bet limits, and expiry dates are all recorded and scored.
We evaluate the game library, software providers, mobile performance, and overall user experience. Quality is weighted more heavily than quantity.
We contact support anonymously with standardised beginner questions about deposits, withdrawals, and bonus terms. We measure time to first response and quality of the answer.
We evaluate the range of payment methods available for both deposits and withdrawals, fees, and minimum transaction thresholds.
How Often Do We Update Our Casino Rankings?
Rankings are reviewed and updated every Monday. The update process covers: fresh payout speed tests on any casino where our last test is more than 30 days old, monitoring of AskGamblers and Casino Guru for new unresolved complaints, checking for changes to bonus terms or licensing status, and incorporating any direct player reports submitted via our contact page.
When a casino is removed from our rankings — which happens several times per year — we do not restore it until it has passed a fresh evaluation cycle. The removal reason is documented internally but we only publish it publicly once it has been confirmed through regulatory channels or independent verification.
What We Do Not Score
Affiliate commission rates, marketing spend, or whether a casino has an existing commercial relationship with this site have zero weight in our scoring model. Casino design and branding aesthetics are not scored. The number of awards a casino claims to have won is not scored — industry awards are often pay-to-enter.
